This isn't a site backed by business or a media company or private equity - it's just one person (and occasionally some friends) writing and posting essays.

Every time you read what I write, you help claw the internet back from the AI Slop and mass produced spam (the stuff in your inbox, not the stuff in the tin).

For now, Wasabi Rush is the home to long-form essays about literature, but you can look forward to more topics over the coming months, including author interviews and essays about indie games and conversations with the people that make them (oooh).

Remember when the internet was full of interesting stuff, not just hot-takes and bullshit? Me too.

I'm not controlled by an algorithm, so if you wanna see what I write, you're going to need to subscribe (if you don't want to see it...well...you know) and it'll whizz straight into your inbox.

I'll post something cool twice a month

Like you, and everyone else in the world, I sell my labour to keep a roof over my head and my dog fed (she's a fiver-year-old Romanian rescue). That means I'm not going to be pumping out news or updates or whatever the fuck it is they do over at LitHub.

Instead, you'll get two excellent pieces twice a month. Occasionally, you'll only get one a month because life is hard and living under capitalism is a nightmare.

My work is long-form, which means it takes hours and hours to write, even if it only takes you 3 minutes and 30 seconds to read.

You can read some of it, or you can read all of it. Either way, I hope it's worth trading your email address for.

The headline says it all really. I'm trans, I'm non-binary, and I'll steal your girlfriend, boyfriend, or partner (depending on my mood).

Being trans influences what I read and what I write, so for some of you that will be a new experience, but for the rest of you I hope you feel like you've found the right corner of the internet.
